“Prometeo encadenado” es la primera pieza a través de la cual Aravind Enrique Adyanthaya empieza a desarrollar sus teorías y prácticas de “escritura acto”, poética teatral basada en la producción en vivo de escritura computarizada proyectada en escena.
Episodios del trabajo fueron desarrollados originalmente en el 2001 en Red Eye Collaboration y en el Playwrights´Center de Minneápolis, Minnesota. La versión en español de la obra completa estrenó en el Festival de Teatro Internacional del Instituto de Cultura Puertorriqueña en el 2002. Desde entonces, el montaje ha viajado a: el Congreso Latin American Theatre Today en la Universidad de Connecticut; la Conferencia de Teatro y Performance auspiciada por el NIH en la Universidad de Puerto Rico en Río Piedras; el maratón de performance de Ulrike Quade en Ámsterdam, Holanda; la Universidad de Pittsburgh; el Congreso de Pensamiento y Arte Iberoamericano en Morelia, México; el Festival Solo Nova en P.S. 122, Nueva York; y el Congreso de la American Society for Theater Research en San Juan.

“Prometheus Bound” is the first piece through which Aravind Adyanthaya begins to postulate his practice and theories of “escritura acto”, a theatrical poetics based on the live act of computerized and projected writing onstage.
Episodes of “Prometheus Bound” were originally developed in 2001 at Red Eye Collaboration and at the Playwrights´ Center in Minneapolis. The Spanish version of the whole show premiered in 2002 at the Puerto Rican Institute of Culture´s International Theatre Festival.
Since then, the piece has been presented at: the 2005 Latin America Theatre Today Congress at the University of Connecticut; the NIH Theatre and Performance Conference at the University of Puerto Rico in Río Piedras; Ulrike Quade´s Performance Event in Amsterdam, the Netherlands; the University of Pittsburgh; the Congress of Iberoamerican Arts and Thought in Morelia, Mexico; Solo Nova Festival at P.S.122, New York; and the American Society for Theatre Research Congress in San Juan.
